This is our BIG DAY at St Andrews. The intention is to raise awareness of the club and encourage new members.
Set up at 10am. Open to the public 11am -3pm. Dismantle by 4pm.
We take over the main hall and set up tables around the edge and in the middle. We aim to have about 100-150 carvings on display for the public to see the range of topics, styles and woods. These are not for touching. There will also be a central Touch Table with robust carvings on that can be “handled with care”.
A small selection of carvings will go onto one table and visitors and members are encouraged to vote for their favourite. There is no prize: this is just for fun.
As previously there will be a prize draw for a carving (this year made by Paul) and a sales table.
Members are encouraged to demonstrate carving/whittling/sanding/pyrography techniques: this is always a hit with visitors.
